Question:
Good evening. We have a falcon tow bar that we have used to pull our prior tow vehicle a Honda Element. We have purchased a new 2021 F-150 to flat tow. What do we need to purchase? We also want to add the solid rock guard barrier. Thanks

First be sure to verify the weight of your 2021 Ford F-150 with any gear that you may include in it while flat towing as your Roadmaster Falcon Tow Bar # RM-522 is rated for a maximum weight of 6,000lbs. Your F-150 has a basic curb weight that is between 4,021lbs and 5,540lbs depending on your body style and powertrain. If you are close to or exceeding the 6,000lbs I recommend the Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain # RM-676. This bar is rated for 8,000lbs.
As you want to use the Roadmaster Guardian Rock Guard # RM-4000 you will need the Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit # RM58VR for your F-150. You can also use the Guardian 2nd Vehicle Kit # RM-4000-1 if you would like to use it with another vehicle as well.
If you still have the cross bar you can get the Roadmaster Tow Bar Quick Disconnects # RM-222 that will allow you to use the same cross bar for multiple vehicles without having to remove the brackets. If you do not have the cross bar you will need the Replacement Quick Disconnect Crossbar Assembly # 910021-00 to connect your tow bars with your F-150.
For the tail light wiring you need the Roadmaster Smart Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Wiring Kit for Variable Voltage Incandescent Tail Lights # RM26FR as you have variable voltage tail lights. And the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25 as your battery will be draining as you are towing.
The Blue Ox Patriot Radio Frequency, Portable Braking System # BLU37TR will allow you to move the braking system between multiple vehicles and can be easily fit in your F-150. You will need a 12 Volt Outlet Kit # RM-9332 to power the braking system in your F-150 as the current outlets will not have power when the truck is off.
