Question:
We have 2 Brooklyn pedal fishing kayaks, they are +/- 30” wide, will the trailer with the 58” crossbars accommodate them flat or do I need to move up to the 78” bars

If you are set on transporting your 2 fishing kayaks that are ~30 inches wide with the Malone EcoLight Sport Trailer - 58" # MAL53FR, you will be able to transport your kayaks as long as they are transported with a j-style carrier. For this option, I recommend the Malone EcoLight Sport Trailer that has 58" crossbars and has j-style that come with it. This is the Malone EcoLight Sport Trailer with J-Style Carriers for 2 Kayaks # MAL93FR. The j-style cradles will be able to accommodate kayaks around 30-inches wide.
As far as extra hardware that you need to install the EcoLight # MAL93FR, I recommend 2 sets of the Malone Cam Buckle Load Straps with Buckle Protectors # MPG307-12. In addition, I recommend the Curt Fusion Ball Mount for 2" Hitches - 2" Ball # C45155 in order to attach the coupler of the trailer. Also, you will need a 4-pole wiring harness and a hitch receiver. For those accessories, I would be happy to assist you with the perfect fitment if you provide the year/make/model of your vehicle.
