Comparing Westlake and Provider ST235/80R16 Load Range G 14-Ply Radial Trailer Tires

Updated 08/07/2021 | Published 08/06/2021

Question:

Which is the better tire, Westlake ST235/80R16 Load Range G, or the Provider ST235/80R/16 Load Range G? I have a 38 ft. LQ Horse Trailer that weights about 16k when loaded and put on quite a few highway miles and some gravel roads.

I lean more towards the Westlake ST235/80R16 Radial Trailer Tire # WE76FR as being the better of the 2 tires. It comes with a 5 year warranty and 2 years of roadside for flat tires in the US, Canada or Puerto Rico. Both tires have the same tread depth, load ratings and radial construction which performs better on the highway.

The Provider ST235/80R16 Radial Trailer Tire # PRG80235 only gives you a 2 year warranty but it does carry a slightly higher speed rating at 81MPH versus 75MPH of the Westlake.
