Features to know about

Made for Heavy Loads and Long Runs: Load Range G with 4,400-lb Capacity at 110 psi

When you’re hauling serious weight mile after mile, this radial tire-and-wheel setup is built to handle it. The Provider ST235/85R16 tire has a 14-ply rating and a maximum load of 4,400 lbs at 110 psi. It’s rated for highway speeds up to 81 mph (speed rating M) and uses double steel belts with double polyester cords for long life. Nylon tread-firming overlays help prevent tread separation, giving the assembly the strength and stability needed for long-distance towing.

Ready to Roll Right Out of the Box: Match Mounted and Balanced Assembly

No shop visit needed. Each assembly is laser-measured, match mounted, and balanced so it arrives ready to install. Matching the lightest part of the tire to the heaviest part of the wheel reduces vibration and helps it roll smooth from day one. That careful balancing means less wear on your running gear and a steadier feel at speed.

Built to Stay Tight Under Pressure: Improved Torque Retention Technology

Nothing’s worse than chasing loose lugs after a few trips. This wheel’s automotive-rated center disc features uncoated, beveled stud holes that improve clamp force retention. Combined with ITR (Improved Torque Retention) technology, the design helps keep the wheel securely seated on the hub without constant retightening.

Stops Rust Before It Starts: Silver Acrylic Enamel Finish over E-Coat Primer

Salt spray, road grime, and water don’t stand a chance here. The steel wheel’s silver acrylic enamel finish is applied over an e-coat primer and zinc phosphate pre-treatment, resisting chips and corrosion better than powder coat finishes. It’s been tested to more than 1,000 hours in salt spray for proven durability that keeps your setup looking sharp season after season.

Peace of Mind on Every Trip: Platinum Plus Warranty with Roadside Assistance

Each assembly comes backed by a 2-year Platinum Plus warranty that includes complimentary roadside assistance for two years. If there’s ever a flat, you can call for help anytime—24 hours a day, 7 days a week—and a technician will change out your flat with your existing inflated spare. It’s built-in reassurance that goes beyond the hardware itself.

Determining Bolt Pattern

1. Count the lug holes

Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).

Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug

2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.

Center to Center
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"

2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).

Center to Outside Edge
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

by:

I am extremely happy with these tires. This is the second set I have purchased for my equipment trailers and am very happy with the service and delivery. Thank you, Alysa, and Etrailer.

by:

Overall the tires were what I expected but out of 4, 3 of them were missing valve stem caps. Just creates more of a pain to go find 3 more so the valves are protected. I was expecting them to be on a pallet but they were loose and had some scuffs and scrapes on the rims. Once again doesn’t affect performance just takes more of my time to get some silver paint to make sure I don’t have rust issues on brand new rims.

Great upgrade to my gooseneck with 7k Dexter axles. Come mounted AND balanced. Will buy these exact ones again from etrailer!

  • Is The White ST235/85R16 Vesper Tire Wheel Combo TA76FR Available In Black Or Chrome?
Hi John! The Provider ST235/85R16 Radial Tire w/ 16" Vesper White Mod Wheel - 8 on 6-1/2 - Load Range G # TA76FR does indeed come in both black and a silver finish. I have both listed below: Provider ST235/85R16 Tire with Silver Vesper Mod Wheel - 8 on 6-1/2 # TA26FR Provider ST235/85R16 Tire with Black Vesper Mod Wheel - 8 on 6-1/2 # TA33MR There isn't a specific center cap for this set up, but the Americana Trailer Wheel Center Cap - Stainless Steel - 4.88" to 4.90" Pilot # AM90156C...

  • Replacement Disc Brakes and Tires/Wheels for 8K Gooseneck Trailer Axles
Hey Richard, thanks for reaching out! You'll need to visit a local trailer shop to custom order an 8K axle to match your hub face and spring center dimensions (see attached photo), but I can definitely get you setup with some hubs, disc brakes, and wheels/tires! For your setup we'll want to use the Dexter Disc Brake Kit # K71-635-90 (1 kit per axle) and then pairing it with the Provider ST235/85R16 Trailer Tire with Silver Vesper Mod Wheel # TA26FR. Just make sure your axle works with...

We do have some hub and drum assemblies that you can use with the Timbren Heavy-Duty Axle-Less Trailer Suspension # ASR35HDS02 which have an 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern. Our Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-865-7-2-EZ-K has a 12" diameter and comes with the needed bearings and grease cap for your application. It does come with a grease seal, but you will need to use part # GS-2125DL (Qty 1) or part # RG06-090 (Qty 2) for the correct seal for the smaller spindle. If you don't already...

  • Is Wheel of Westlake ST235/85R16 Steel or Alloy Wheel
Hi Lance, So the wheel on the Westlake ST235/85R16 Radial Tire w 16" Steel Mod Wheel # WST48FR is indeed a steel wheel and not alloy, and the 110 psi is correct. Steel wheels don't have a max psi of 80, the max psi is really determined by what the valve stem can handle, and of course the tires. Then for your next question regarding recommendation between the two, while the Provider # TA26FR is solid I would absolutely go with the Westlake # WST48FR. The 13/32" tread depth of the tire...

  • Trailer Hub Recommendation for a Number 42 Spindle
Based on the dimensions you listed it sounds like you have a number 42 spindle. All you need to do now is verify that the surface of the spindle where the seal rides is 2.24 inches. If so then the trailer hub like the part # 42866UC3 would fit and work well. It will require a trailer rim with an 8 6-1/2 inch bolt pattern though like part # TA26FR.

  • Is There a Load Rating vs Inflation Chart for the Taskmaster Provider 235/85R16 Tire
No. Taskmaster says to keep the Provider ST235/85R16 Radial Trailer Tire w/ 16" Vesper Silver Mod Wheel # TA26FR at a psi of 110 for the max load capacity of 4,400 lbs. They don't advise running the tire at lower pressures as they don't know what the load rating will be.

For a ST235/85R16 tire you're going to need a 16" wheel with an 8 on 6-1/2 lug pattern. I wasn't able to get any information off of Midsota's website but I have listed a couple of options below. • Clearance Differences Between Trailer Tire Sizes 8x14.5 and 235/80-16
We recommend to have at least 2 inches of clearance from the tire to the trailer frame and 3 to 4 inches of clearance from the top of the tire to fender to accommodate for suspension travel. So to go from the size you have now of 8x14.5 to the 235/80-16 like the # TA26FR you'd lose about 3/4 of an inch of inner clearance between the tire and the frame and then in vertical clearance 2 inches. This setup would also stick out about 1-1/4 inches further than what you have now.

  • Highest Weight Rated 16 inch Trailer Wheel and Tire Combo
The highest rated trailer wheel and tire combo we have that is close to your tire size would be the Provider wheel and tire part # TA26FR which is a ST235/85R16 Load Range G mounted on an 8 lug trailer wheel. This has a capacity of 4,400 lbs and is our highest weight rated option.

  • Is Load Range G Rating On ST235/85R16 Trailer Tire High Enough For Trailer With 14000lb GVWR?
The Provider ST235/85R16 Radial Trailer Tire w/ 16" Vesper Silver Mod Wheel - 8 on 6-1/2 - LR G # TA26FR you mentioned has a load rating of 4400lbs at 110 PSI, and assuming that your trailer has tandem axles this would give you a combined load rating of 17600lbs which is more than enough due to your trailer only having a 14000lb GVWR. Your trailer should have the 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern so the # TA26FR should be an exact replacement for you since it has the same ST235/85R16 size, but...

This combo has a 3200-lbs per tire capacity, which will be fine since the 2018 Jayco Eagle HT 26.5RDLS has a GVWR of just under 10,000-lbs. These come mounted on a good looking aluminum mag wheel with a 6 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern, so they'll fit on your existing hubs.
