Question:

Im considering the SM96FR SmartPlug Replacement Kit for an upgrade on my 2020 Airstream 25foot Globetrotter. Two questions: 1. Is the SM96FR appropriate for my 50amp Airstream? 2. I use a 25foot 50 amp Mighty Cord which is considerably smaller in diameter than a standard 50 amp RV power cord. Will the Mighty Cord attach snugly and properly to the 50 Amp male plug and will one of the sleeves that comes with the kit give me a tight enough fit around the cord to keep out water?

Since your Airstream is a 50amp system the SmartPlug Replacement RV Power Inlet and Connector # SM96FR would be the appropriate receptacle. The wires from your 50amp Mighty Cord # A10-5025E will slide into the smart plug and be tightened down with screws for a secure connection. The TPE Dyna-flex cord seals will provide a snug waterproof fit to your 50 amp cable. SmartPlug recommends lubricating the cord to fit the seal onto the cord so I don't think you'll have any issues even with your cable's diameter being smaller than normal.
