Can I Replace a Single Axle Trailer With a Dual Timbren Axle-Less Suspension System?

Updated 07/30/2021 | Published 07/29/2021

Question:

Hi, I have a Pontoon boat, I think it weighs about 6000 lbs, the trailer is a single axle with small wide tires on it, while I am ok with the Tires, I would like to make it a double axle trailer, is that possible with this axle system? and Which should I choose?

I would recommend using a pair of 3,500lb Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension Systems like the # A35RS545E. This kit comes equipped with a straight spindle and electric drum brakes. The straight spindle has a centerline that is 4" below the frame that you will attach it to.

This is where this will get tricky as you will want to know how high your trailer rides currently and when you switch to the new axles, wheels and tires how much if any drop or rise in the spindle height is required. If you can let me know your current height to the bottom of your frame and what tires you have I can recommend the best kit for your new setup. Also if you prefer electric or hydraulic brake systems.
