Hello, I am looking for a rack system for the canopy on my 08 Silverado short bed 5ft 8 inch bed. I want to use this rack to store surf boards or potentially mount a roof tent. I saw rhino rack makes two different bars, a square or oval shape. Does it matter for if I want to mount a tent in the future? Y02-490B Thanks

The Rhino-Rack is a great choice to add a rack system to your camper, and while the square Rhino-Rack Heavy-Duty Bar Roof Rack for Camper Shells # Y01-130B has its uses, when it comes to using the rack for accessories and/or a tent, the best option is definitely the rack with aero-shaped bars:

Both racks have the same 220 lb capacity so you aren't losing anything in that regard by going with aero bars, and aero bars are going to give you the option to mount many more accessories or tent styles than the Rhino-Rack HD square bars.

The aero bars of the # Y02-490B are the standard size, so there won't be any issue fitting a tent or rooftop carrier for your surfboards. For example, the Inno Locker Watersport Carrier # INA446 will fit easily on the aero bars but not on the square bars.
