Adapter Rail Needed For A B&W Patriot Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch For A 2017 Ford F-450 Puck System

I have the BandW Patriot 18K slider for the rail system and I recently purchases a 2017 F450 with the puck system. Is there a new replacement base the does not slide that the head from my hitch will fit or am I going to have to use the Reese addapter or buy a new hitch.

There isn't a different Patriot base for your B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider 18,000lbs # BWRVK3270 that would drop into your 2017 Ford F-450 Super Duty's puck system so I recommend using an adapter rail like the Adapter Rails for Curt 5th Wheel Hitch - Ford and Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package Item # C88KR and installing your hitch onto it. You can still use the slider base and just leave it locked in place.

If you want to clear up some space in your bed and make the hitch lighter you could replace the base with the Replacement Base for B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - 18,000lbs Item # BWRVB3255 but you would still need an adapter rail.

Hey George, once the B and W Fifth Wheel Rail kit part #BWRVK2505 is installed you will be able to reinstall the fender liner like it was before. All of the install pictures we have show the fender off so you can see what it looks like.

You will have to go with a sliding hitch to allow the trailer to make tight turns. For a trailer 8 feet wide the only bed length that's going to allow 90 degree turns without a slider is a stationary hitch. That being said you have two options.…
