Question:
I plan on installing a trailer brake controller and 7pin plug on my 2006 Pilot. I already have the four pin flat 118336 installed. That plug is tucked inside the cargo cavity and I just route it out under the hatch when needed. In order to connect to the round plug underneath, will I need to make a hole to route the 4 pin from the bottom of that cargo space to plug into the 7 pin harness? Your video shows the 4 flat already hanging from the underside, but installed the plug is located inside the cargo cavity and taken out when needed. Hope I made sense, Thanks for your time

In the sheet metal of the rear cargo compartment in your 2006 Honda Pilot will be a black grommet. You will need to cut a small hole in that grommet to pass the Tekonsha T-One Connector # 118336 through, and then seal it up with some silicone which can be purchased at a local hardware store to keep water from getting in.
To convert your 4-way flat connector to a 7-way connector you have two options. The # ETBC7 with a traditional trailer brake controller like the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195, or the option I recommend which is the # ETBC7L with a wireless controller like the Curt Echo Wireless # C51180.
The reason I recommend going with the # ETBC7L and the # C51180 is there is quite a bit less wiring, making it much easier to install, and it not requiring you to mount a bulky controller to the dash of your Pilot.
The # ETBC7L will install by plugging your 4-way connector in to it then making two more connections. The black wire will get run to the positive terminal of your battery with the included 40 amp circuit breaker, and the white wire will get grounded to the frame of your Pilot.
To mount th # ETBC7L to your trailer hitch receiver you will need the no drill mounting bracket # 18140.
Once the 7-way is installed you will then plug the Echo # C51180 directly into it, then plug the 7-way connector from your trailer into the Echo. One of the many great features of this controller is it can be easily removed and used on any vehicle with a functional 7-way connector, so no need to by multiple brake controllers if you tow with more than one vehicle, or change vehicles in the future.
I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
