Question:

Greetings. I have a Stealth Hitch Item # SH25VR for my 2021 BMW X5. Im looking at purchasing the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller Item # C51180. I have a question about the way the 7-wire plug is mounted vertically with the Stealth hitch and whether theres enough ground clearance to have the Curt controller and trailer wire in that configuration. Thanks.

I have another option for you, but since the 7-way connector included with the Stealth Hitches Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # SH25VR for your 2021 BMW X5 points down, the Curt Echo Wireless # C51180 will not fit as it will be very close to the ground.

Instead I recommend going with the Tekonsha Prodigy RF # TK94FR which mounts to the frame of your trailer. The 7-way connector on your trailer will plug into the RF and the new cord will plug into the 7-way connector on your X5.

This will work in very much the same way as the Echo, but will not have the same ground clearance issues.
