For the proper length axle, you'll need to obtain the hub face to hub face distance. We offer 3500 lb axles with both 89 and 95 inch hub face to hub face dimensions.
The Dexter # 35545I-EZ-89 3500 lb axle you'd looked at has a flange to flange distance of 82-5/8 inches, which is bit short of the 87 inch length you mentioned but the # 7359765-I would have a flange to flange distance of about 88-5/8 inches which would be closer to the 87 inches you mentioned. This axle includes the idler hubs with a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern, the bearings, races, seals, grease caps and lug nuts as well as the grease.
As you stated, the spring perches or seats could indeed be replaced using part # TRSS238, which are sold individually.
