How to Install Locking Knob On Thule Apex When Original Knob Is Broken

How do I get this broken knob off It won’t go past the bolt that is missing the middle How can I remove the back piece

Typically the lock will need to be in the unlocked position in order to unscrew the Locking Anti-Rattle Knob for Thule Apex Bike Racks and Rain Gutter Foot Packs - Qty 1 # 753-0073 from the locking hitch pin. If your lock was in the locked position before the knob was broken off, you'll likely want to try to start with unscrewing the gear shaped washer and seeing if that allows the knob to turn freely on the bolt.

You also may want to take a thick flat head screw driver for the head of that bolt and try loosening knob that way. If you can let me know what parts turn in any manner I can continue to help you troubleshoot this and get the back part of the knob free.
