Using Two Different Tire Makes on Single Axle Boat Trailer
Updated 03/22/2013 | Published 03/20/2013 >
Question:
Does different treads on radial tires on a single axle boat trailer have any adverse effect when the tire is the same size? Thanks

Expert Reply:
Ideally, you would want to use identical tires on the same axle, but as long as both tires are the same size, both radials and are both of the same load range, using two different makes of tire on your boat trailer will not cause a problem.
Be sure to keep your trailer tires fully inflated to the maximum psi listed on the tire sidewall for maximum performance and tread life.
