Question:

Looking for new winch will the jiff 2speed 315–w2000d work as a substitute .Should the winch lb rating be the same as the weight of the boat?. I own a 1998 Searay Br - 210 boat. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

The Single Speed Jif Trailer Winch part # 315-W2000D would work great as a replacement for your boat trailer that is carrying a 1998 Searay BR. When picking out a winch for a boat trailer you generally only need a winch with 50 percent of the weight capacity compared to the weight of the boat. So this winch has a 2,000 lb weight capacity and would work great with up to a 4,000 lb boat.
