Bike Frame Adapter Bar for Small Kids Bikes on a Thule Apex 5 Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Rack

Question:

I have two small kids bikes to attach to my Thule Apex 5 bike rack. The Yakima frame adapter is the smallest I have seen, but I am not sure it would even work with these bikes. I measured less than 14 inches from handlebar to seat post They are 14 and 16 inch bikes. Any suggestions on alternatives?

Like you have said, the smallest adapter bars are going to be 14-1/2 inches at their shortest length so that is not going to be small enough for the 14 inches you will need. You may have to attach the adapter in an alternate location such as one end around the seat post and the other end higher up on the handle bars if possible.

Or you may have to raise the seat and/or handle bars up so they are further apart to get the adapters to fit. If nothing you do allows the adapter to fit then the bikes will have to be carried in the vehicle.
