Question:
hi I am looking to replace my Atwood surge brake since it is no longer available and getting parts seems to be very difficult. Can you tell me what would be a direct replacment? The unit is 6000 lb, 900lb max tounge weight with a 2inch ball. It also has manual lockout for backing up. I could connect an electric lockout if i had to but would prefer manual. Best regards

I have a few options depending on if your Atwood actuator is for disc brakes or drum brakes.
For drum brakes I recommend the Titan Brake Actuator with Manual Lockout - Bolt On - Drum - 2" Ball - 7,500 lbs # T63FR which is the only actuator we offer for a 2" ball that has the manual lockout you were wanting. This actuator bolts on to 3" wide channel tongues and has a 750lb tongue weight rating and 7500lb trailer weight rating.
If your trailer has disc brakes I recommend the Dexter DX7.5 Drop-N-Go Brake Actuator - Disc Brakes - 2" Ball - Zinc Plated - 7,500 lbs # 099-175-20 which will also bolt onto 3" wide channel tongues but has a slightly lower tongue weight rating of 700lbs while still having the same 7500lb trailer weight rating.
This actuator only has the electric lockout, so you can add a 5-way connector # HM47910 and 4-way to 5-way adapter # C57187 on your tow vehicle, or you can add free backing brakes to your trailer so you do not have to worry about any sort of lockout.
If you can tell me the diameter of the brakes on your trailer I would be happy to see if we have free-backing brakes available for you.
I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
