Use the Curt-Supplied Bolts or OEM Bolts/Washers
Updated 04/07/2021 | Published 04/05/2021 >
Question:
This hitch comes with bolts for remounting the hitch/bumper beam combo. The Toyota bolts 2017 Prius Prime have thick washers. 1 Can I just reuse the OEM bolts/washers or is there a reason to use the Curt bolts? 2 If I use the Curt bolts, should I transfer the OEM washers over? Thanks.

You will want to use the new hardware that came with your Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11473. The included hardware does not require the OEM washers. Curt determined that the OEM bolts and washers were not long enough to engage all of the threads on the bumper, so they have included new flange bolts that won't require the washers.
