Question:
Hi there, I’m looking for a class III receiver for a 2015 Subaru Impreza wagon/hatchback. I noticed that the class 1 hitches seem cross compatible between the XV crosstrek and my 2015 Impreza. This is one of a few examples of a class 1 receiver that fits both cars. DT24959 However, the class three receivers for the crosstrek do not fit the Impreza. I’m only planning to use this for a bike rack and I’m wondering if I can make the class III receiver for the XV crosstrek fit my Impreza. The crosstrek and Impreza installation videos look identical. Thanks

You're really done your research here, and while we have a 2 inch receiver that fits your 2015 Subaru Impreza, we can't recommend going with one from Curt or Draw-Tite.
At one point, the 2" Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76084 was listed as a fit for your 2015 Impreza, so technically it will fit, but Draw-Tite removed it as an option because it hangs super low to the ground on the Impreza and there is a huge gap between the fascia and the hitch tube. So not only is there next to no ground clearance (especially bad for a bike rack), but it also looks really odd and truly shouldn't be used on an Impreza (since it's not technically a fit it also wouldn't be warrantied). Instead, for a hitch on your 2015 Impreza wagon/hatchback that has a 2 inch receiver, the only option really is from EcoHitch:
- EcoHitch Invisi Trailer Hitch Receiver # # 306-X7211
This hitch will fit your Impreza so long as it has the center knock-out panel in the lower rear fascia. If not, the best option for a hitch will be the Class I Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT24959.
The Draw-Tite # DT24959 has the best ground and bumper clearance of the Class I hitches that fit your '15 Impreza, making it the best for bike rack use, and I have added a link below to a video install for you to check out as well.
