Question:
I have a 3 yr old tandem axle Nitro boat trailer. The shackle straps have worn so much that Im not sure of their size. I get measurements between 2-3/8 and 2-5/8 from the center, bolt to bolt. The overall length is 3-1/2. Im assuming they were originally 2-1/4.The equalizer has a part # eq 310. Because they have worn so much in a short period of time Id like to replace them with an upgrade kit like morryde #MR46ZR. Im hoping that wet bolts will help with the cracking and popping noises that I currently have while backing up. Do you recommend replacing the equalizers as well? I couldnt find any upgraded ones that matched the measurements of my eq 310 and Im not interested in replacing hangers to adjust for the difference. I would upload some photos, but I dont see an option for it.

For the Triangular Equalizer # TREQ310, you do not need to replace it when using the shackle kit you mentioned:
- MORryde Shackle Upgrade Kit for Tandem Axle Trailers With 2-1/4" Shackles # MR46ZR
That cracking and popping you are referring to is likely because of the lack of lubrication so the MORryde kit is going to be the perfect remedy for that. The wet bolts are going to make it much, much simpler to maintain, and the 1/2" thick shackles are far more durable so they won't wear down like your current shackles did.
