The Kenda Karrier KR53 ST225/75R15 radial tire is built for serious towing. With an 8-ply Load Range D rating, it handles up to 2,540 lbs at 65 psi and stays steady at highway speeds up to 87 mph. The radial design runs cooler on long trips, giving you stable tracking and dependable performance even when the miles stretch out in the heat.
This 15" x 6" modular steel wheel isn’t just tough—it’s protected. A two-step finish process with an e-coat primer topped by a black powder coat seals out moisture and road salt. Whether you’re towing through rain or parking near the coast, that corrosion resistance keeps the wheel looking sharp season after season.
The KR53 radial construction uses computer-optimized tread and premium rubber compounds for traction in both wet and dry conditions. That means a smooth, quiet ride and less heat buildup on long hauls. It’s designed specifically for trailers and meets DOT specifications, so you can trust it to track straight and tow steady mile after mile.
This assembly comes mounted and inflated, so you can bolt it on and go without a stop at the tire shop. The wheel features a 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern, 1/2"-20 wheel bolts, a 4.27" pilot diameter, and a wheel capacity of 2,860 lbs. Fitment is straightforward, giving you more time on the road instead of in the garage.
Every KR53 tire comes with a 1-year worry-free guarantee—if it’s damaged in the first 12 months, it’s replaced at no cost. The wheel carries a limited 2-year warranty for added peace of mind. It’s a setup built for reliability from day one through every haul ahead.

1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this Kenda Karrier KR53 ST225/75R15 load range D radial trailer tire with this 15 inch black mod steel wheel with the 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern. Now, this tire and wheel assembly is going to be great for your stock trailers, utility trailers, and campers. This KR53 special trailer radial tire or ST radial tire is low weight, providing better fuel economy on long trips. And this is created specifically for trailers and it's not intended for use on other vehicles.
The sidewalls have been engineered for enhanced durability and resistance to ozone exposure. And the computer-optimized wide tread design and premium rubber compound materials gonna give you superior traction in wet or dry conditions. Now, as I mentioned at the beginning and as we have stamped here on the tire, this is an ST225/75R15. The section width is 8.4 inches and the outer diameter when fully inflated is 28.1 inches. This is a load range D, meaning it has an eight ply rating and the maximum load is 2,540 pounds at 65 PSI.
And this has a speed rating of N, indicating a maximum speed of 87 miles per hour. Now, this steel wheel with this modular design is sturdy, it's corrosion resistant, and the wheel went through a two-step finishing process that includes an e-coat primer and black powder coat finish. Our stud holes here are beveled and that's going to help keep your wheel securely in place on the trailer hub, eliminating the need to constantly re-tighten your lug nuts. The dimensions of our wheel. Looking at the diameter first, measuring bead seat the bead seat is 15 inches, and the width of the wheel is six inches, and the bolt pattern is 6 on 5-1/2 inches.
And in case you don't know, the first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes, and the second number is the diameter in inches of the circle on which the bolt holes sit. So to determine the bolt circle diameter on wheels with an even number of bolt holes as we have here, you simply measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the bolt hole directly across from it. The capacity of this wheel is 2,860 pounds. The wheel stud size is 1/2 an inch by 20. The center cap is sold separately, but if you decide to pick one up, you just wanna make sure that it fits the pilot diameter of 4.27 inches.
And this tire and wheel assembly does meet the Department of Transportation specifications. Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our brief look today. I do hope that our time together was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
