Is Fascia Trimming Needed to Install Trailer Hitch on 2006 Honda Element EX-P
Updated 03/11/2021 | Published 03/07/2021 >
Question:
Hello - can you tell me if etrailer # e78KR Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2 - will fit my 2006 Honda Element EX-P without modification to the rear bumper fascia? On some Element models, the hitch tube does not clear the fascia and trimming or bending of the fascia is required. Please let me know if there is enough clearance on my model, thanks!

For the 2006 Honda Element, etrailer doesn't have sub-model specific information about if fascia needed trimming to install their # e78KR Class III hitch. The install directions state that for all models, some drilling will be required but no fascia trimming. The hitch sits below the bumper.
If you have the squared-off bumper that doesn't slant downward under the vehicle, then it could be possible that some trimming would be needed, but our directions say no trimming needed. Unfortunately, we have not yet installed this hitch on your year of Element.
