Cannot Disconnect Tow Bar from Tow Vehicle Except on Level Ground

Question:
We have a blue ox tow bar and when we tried to disconnect our jeep - the arms of the tow bar were locked and we could not disconnect until we moved to a totally level ground. Is there a trick to allow the arms to disconnect without having to be totally on level ground? Thanks-

It sounds like you have a tow bar that binds. There are non-binding tow bars that will allow you to unlock the bars with the push of a lever such as # BX4375. Unfortunately, with a tow bar that binds the only way to disconnect your vehicle is to park on level ground and disconnect.
