Question:

I have a Roadmaster Sterling tow bar with out any of the towed vehicle adapters, or cross bar. I want to tow our 2016 Wrangler Rubicon. I am wanting to change the front bumper from the OEM. Can I use the D-ring mounts on an after market bumper with the proper adapter? thanks

You can tow your 2016 Jeep Wrangler with an off-road bumper, and as you mentioned, you will simply need the right adapters. This will work with either the first generation of Roadmaster Sterling tow bar or the Roadmaster Sterling All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar # RM-576.

All you will need is the correct adapter, and that will depend on the thickness of the D-ring shackle mounts, which must also have 7/8" or 1" diameter mounting holes. The correct adapter will be one of the following two:

- 3/4" Thick Shackle Mounts: Adapter for Jeep D-Ring Bumper Mounts # RM-035

- 1" Thick Shackle Mounts: Adapter for Jeep D-Ring Bumper Mounts # RM-035-1
