Question:
Im trying to find the correct heavy-duty hitch receiver for a 2008 Chevy Express 3500 Cutaway Shuttle Bus. Class 4 or 5 preferably The center of beam to beam bolt hole to bolt hole is 39. From the back edge of the beam to the first hole is 14inch and the second hole is 20.75. The beams have another horizontal bracket attached that is attached to the back bumper, that dimension is roughly 6. Ive seen similar questions asked for this model vehicle and a Curt # C15320 was recommended, but this will not work as the C15320 center hole to center hole is 40.25. Ive also seen a recommendation for a 2012 Chevy 3500 cutaway for Buyers #3371801102. The center hole dimension on this product is 39, so I think it may work, but Im unsure. The bolt holes wont line up with what I have, so Id likely have to drill new ones. Please see the pictures attached. I have towing hooks that will likely need to be removed, as well as an exhaust that will need to be shifted over. Can you recommend a 2inch hitch receiver for my vehicle?

Buyer's Products does indeed recommend the # 3371801102 for your cutaway van chassis, but to determine if the hitch will work, you'll need to measure for the drop needed. You do this by measuring downward from the underside of the frame member until you clear the underside of the back bumper. If this distance is 7 inches or greater, the # 3371801102 hitch would work perfectly for you.
The hitch has a 12000 lb towing/1200 lb tongue weight capacity, so it's plenty stout.
As you mentioned, the tow hooks would need to be removed and you will need to drill to mount the hitch.
If a 7 inch drop isn't sufficient, we will have a weld on service body hitch that could work well for you, just reply and let me know the amount of drop that you'd need.
