Best Way To Carry Two Giant E-Bikes On A PFord F150 Pickup Truck

Question:

looking for a bike rack to handle Giant Ebike Stance 2020, large, that has 48 wheel base. my wife has a Giant LIV, which is smaller but still heavy. We would like a platform style rack that fits the back of a Ford F150 in a 2 hitch . most bike racks we are looking at do not seem to handle the weight or the larger wheelbase. Would also be interested in a Bike Blanket option to fit over the tail gate if that is recommended. as one issue , with the larger Rack platform is the bike is wider than the back of the truck. making it a concern driving. looking for recommendations. thanks

I would not recommend a tailgate pad with heavier bikes. One reason being is that it's hard to load and unload the bikes from your tailgate and the heavier the bikes the more stress it'll put on your tailgate. For heavier bikes I highly suggest getting the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE # HLY84FR which covers all your needs. It can hold up to 80 lbs per bike and can support up to 60 inch wheelbases. This rack will be no wider than your bike so it shouldn't interfere with your taillights enough to be dangerous to other commuters.

This rack will be MUCH easier to load and unload and this allows you to lock your rack to your Ford F150 and lock your bikes to the rack. I highly suggest locking the bikes up as they are super nice and you wouldn't want anyone running off with them.
