Question:
I just got a dump trailer. 10k GVWR. Id like to use a weight distribution hitch but the location of the box for hydraulics is in the way for where you would typically mount brackets for the bars. Are there other options that might work for this configuration?

Helpful Expert Reply:
I recommend using the Curt MV Weight Distribution System w/ Friction Sway Control - Round Bar - 14K GTW, 1.4K TW # C17063, which will work well for your 10000-lbs GVWR trailer; you will want to make sure that your trailer does not exceed the 1400-lbs tongue weight capacity of this system. In order to use this system on your trailer frame you'll need to install the Chain Hangers for Curt Weight Distribution Systems - Bolt On # C17005, which will allow you to work around the hydraulic box that you mentioned. The MV is a good economical system that will help reduce the strain on your tow vehicle's rear suspension, and the integrated sway control will help improve your overall towing experience and safety.
I've linked a review video of this system for you to check out.
