Question:

I have an 04 ram with a Sony xav-ax1000 receiver. This receiver has 1 input for the pioneer backup camera. It automatically switches the monitor to camera view when I put the truck in reverse. I recently purchased an enclosed trailer and would like to add another camera to that to aid in parking the trailer along the house, especially at night. Can I use this multiplexor to feed video from both cameras? How do I between which camera is being shown on the monitor or can it be set to always show the trailer camera once it is connected?

The Rear View Safety Switcher Box # RVS-501N-3 can be used to switch between three cameras and even has an input designated for a reverse camera like you already have.

It selects the camera to view based on the trigger wires that you run to the wiring of the cameras.
