How To Tow Trailer With Motorhome That Has Separate Brake and Turn Signal Wires
Updated 10/14/2020 | Published 10/12/2020 >
Question:
Have a 2004 Boulder 32’. I connect the coach to my enclosed trailer and hook up the electrical connector and the lights on the trailer come on but no brake lights. I tore the connector on the coach apart and found there to be a left and right turn wire in the connector and a separate brake light wire. Most turn signal wires are a combo turn/stop. I’m lost on this one.

The motorhome is wired with separate brake and turn signals which is not as common as combined brake and turn signals but still present. Therefore, you'll need to switch from separate to combine in order to illuminate the lights on the trailer and in order to do this all you'll need is a converter, the Roadmaster Brite-Lite Wiring Converter part # RM-732.
I have attached an install photo below, just ignore the part after the trailer connector to the toad.
