Question:
I have a 2021 Tundra TRD Pro and tow a 7480lbs dry weight camper with close to 1000 lbs hitch weight. I previously towed the same rig on a 2015 Tundra TRD Pro using the Airlift air bags, and while they were great while towing they hindered the ride while not towing the ride was always bouncy. I also use the Daystar cradles as not to cause an articulation problem or an issue when the dealer lifted my truck for maintenance. My question is: will the Firestone airbags with Daystart cups degrade my trucks suspension performance while not towing like the Airlift bags did?

Expert Reply:
The suspension performance of your 2021 Toyota Tundra can be negatively affected if you are using cradles with any air bags, including the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2445.
The Daystar cradles are designed to increase suspension travel, so using them with any air bags is going to result in a bouncier ride. My recommendation would be not to use them to ensure you have the best ride as they really aren't needed with the outstanding Ride-Rite air bags.
These air bags by themselves will ensure you have the suspension support you need and there won't be an issue with them being damaged when the dealer lifts your truck for maintenance. So the best thing to do for your 2021 Tundra for its suspension is to only use the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2445, along with a compressor to ensure you can easily monitor and maintain the bags, the Wireless Air Command Compressor System # F2610.
