Measuring a Trunnion Weight Distribution Bar and Where is the Friction Sway Control on Head RP54980

Question:

At what point do you measure on the trunnion bar. Mine seems to measure one and one-fourth inches at the base where the parts slips onto the bar. Also, head of my hitch has an extension welded onto it for the sway bar placement. Does the RP54980 have a place to attach the ball for a sway bar?

You would be measuring the bar thickness by measuring the opening it fits into on the trunnion itself to make sure you get the right bar depending on the age of the system. If the trunnions are old and have worn some then that opening might be larger than what it actually was when new. Also, the opening has to be a little larger than the bar itself so the bar can fit in the trunnion.

On the replacement head, # RP54980, there is an ear on the passenger side of the head that has a hole for a fiction style sway bar. I have included a picture for you that points it out.
