On your 2001 Featherlite horse trailer with the dressing room the best replacement door handle option is the Global Link RV Entry Door Locking Latch Kit with Keyed Alike Option - Black Item # 295-000019. It fits doors that are 1-1/4" to 1-1/2" thick with a cutout that is between 2-1/2" to 3" wide x 3-1/2" to 4" tall.

In order to determine the torque rating for the lug nuts on your trailer you will need to know check out the chart I attached that shows all of the torque specs for all the trailer lugs available based on stud size, wheel material and wheel size.
