Which Hitch Mounted Bike Rack is Best for 2 Heavy E-bikes?
Updated 09/04/2020 | Published 09/03/2020 >
Question:
I have a Veego 750 step-through 69 pounds,, 4inch tires, 20inch diameter tires, 70inch length, plus a Blix Aveny step through 54 pounds with 27inch x 2inch tires, 76inch length. My SUV has both 1 1/2inch and 2inch hitch options. Which hitch would be best for me at a reasonable price...

The "Swagman Current" 2 Bike Platform # S64678 holds two 60-pound E-bikes and can attach to a Class-II 1-1/4" or Class-III 2" reciever. Will work with fat tires up to 5" wide. It holds bikes with wheelbases (center of wheel to center of wheel) up to 50". You can measure your bikes and you should find that these will fit. I really like the finish on this rack and that it includes a lock for the bikes and the racks!
You mentioned that one bike weighed 69 pounds and the other was 54 pounds, so these are slightly over the limit, however if you take the batteries out you should not have a problem, not to mention this would be better for the batteries anyway.
I have attached a link to a video about this rack, and a link to it's product page.
