Can the Swagman Current Bike Rack Carry a 60 lb Bike?

Question:

Many bike racks are showing a 45# per bike and for two bikes 90# total. I need to transport only one bike - a 60# electric bike. If I only transport one bike, will it hold a single 60# bike?

Great question! The math sounds right, but this is not recommended by most rack makers. While the rack itself may be able to hold it UP, the cradles, straps and other parts that hold the bike safely to the rack may not be rated to handle the extra weight.
