Lift Kit for Trailer with Tandem 4,400 lb Axles

Question:
I have an open range 291RLS fifth wheel. the max gross for this camper is just shy of 10000#. There are 2 4400# axles. I currently have 4 leaf, leaf springs that measure 26 eye to eye and they look flat. I need to increase the height of my trailer because I bought a new truck, a Ford F-350 and it sits higher than the last truck I had. Will the 6 leaf for 4400# axles springs raise the height of the trailer, or do I need to use the 6000# leaf springs with 6 leafs? I have not measured yet, but looking at my rig I think I will be looking for 4-5 inches increase in height. I was hoping to get 3 from springs and maybe use 2 lift blocks and if I need more I would look at wheels and tires.

We have a 2-1/4 inch lift kit with part # RR23QX that would work great on your trailer to give it an additional 2-1/4 inches of lift. You might be able to raise the pin box in the frame it attaches to on your trailer to lower the nose as well. As long as you can maintain at least 6 inches of clearance there while the trailer is level you'd be good. We don't like to recommend too much of a lift on the trailer as that raises the center of gravity considerably which could cause handling issues.
