I ma planning on buying the Thule rack mount awning and the height of the mount will be approximately 8.5 ft at the van? Also what do you need to mount it to the awning?

The Thule Hideaway Tent part # TH309920 will work great with the Hideaway part # TH490008 you are planning on installing on your 2016 Ford Transit T150. Your height of 8.5 feet would not be an issue at all either as that height would easily work with this tent and fits within it's range. The max height is 9 feet 4 inches.
