Questioning Sturdiness of Rhino-Rack Crossbars on 2016 Toyota Highlander
Updated 07/15/2020 | Published 07/14/2020 >
Question:
Hi, I ordered this part and installed it. My concern....the front bar seems to have some play can be slightly twisted forward and backwards. Is this normal and how will it effect the safety of my Argo once I mount a cargo box on it. Currently I am not assured of its sturdiness. I tried but can’t seem to attach a video. Please advise before I have cargo flying off my roof. Thanks. For a 2016 Toyota Highlander with bare roof.

The Rhino-Rack RVP Roof Rack for Fixed Mounting Points - Vortex Aero Crossbars - Aluminum - Qty 2 # RRRVP37 should have a little flex and play but what you are referencing as a concern sounds excessive. I recommend un-installing the crossbar and foot and looking for where that "play" may be coming from. If the lock washers on the fit kit and the tower are flattened, then I would need to see a visual of the movement to further help but replacement may be necessary. I've attached a couple installation videos to assist.
