Question:

I am planning on getting this roof rack system for my 2009 Volkswagen Touareg 2 with factory side rails mostly for carrying my 14 ft tandem kayak. I have a 5x8 enclosed cargo trailer that I pull behind my truck that I also need a roof rack system for. Is there any universal side rails that I could mount on top of my trailer that would make these Monroes easily interchangeable between the Volkswagen and the cargo trailer? I am mostly looking to save on cost so if there is a roof rack system that I could leave installed on the cargo trailer that would be less expensive than side rails I would go with that instead. Thanks

The Rack'em Fitz-All Enclosed Trailer Ladder Rack part # RA-28 is currently our best and only option for enclosed trailers. Basically you want this system because the rack attaches to the side of the trailer rather than putting all of the weight down on the typically weak thin roof material.
