Question:
Hello, I would like to add a hitch mount to the back of my Lance Travel Trailer for a bike rack or cargo platform. It was recommended that I purchase a frame mounted hitch vs. a bumper mount. Could you please let me know what you would suggest. Thank you

Frame mounted trailer hitches tend to offer a more stable connection for your accessories. When finding the right RV frame mounted hitch, the key is to measure your trailer's frame width.
I like to recommend the Curt Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs # 13703 because it is so versatile. This hitch fits frames that measure anywhere from 22 inches wide up to 72 inches wide. This hitch works on box frames, C-channel frames, or I-beam frames thanks to the bracket design. This hitch has a towing capacity of 3,500 lbs and a tongue weight capacity of 350 lbs. I've linked an installation video of this hitch on a different travel trailer for you to review.
If you need a higher capacity hitch and have a trailer frame 51 inches or less in width, then the Curt Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs # C13702 is a great option. This hitch it frames from 18 inches to 51 inches wide and has a towing capacity of 5,000lbs and tongue weight capacity of 500 lbs.
