Question:
Hello! Considering buying a 2013 VW Jetta TDI sedan to pull our 700LB tear camper. Uhaul tells us the TDI engine presents problems at the rear and they cannot install a tow hitch. Why is that, or is that true? Also, what about a 7-prong wiring harness and receptacle? Does one exist for this vehicle? Any help would be appreciated - thank you!

We have EcoHitch # 306-X7311 which fits your 2013 Volkswagen Jetta TDI that was designed to fit the diesel models like what you have.
You will need to start with a 4-way (if you do not have one). For that you would want the # C59496.
From there you would need to convert the 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install the brake controller. For that you will want the Brake Controller Install Kit and 7-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. I attached installation instructions and an install video for this product as well.
For a brake controller I would recommend the Brake EVN # TK63VR. This is one of our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup.
