Expert Reply:
The Curt RV Bumper 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver part # E-100 which is a fit for a standard 4" x 4" rear bumpers will allow you to tow a trailer up to 3,500 lbs. However, that is what the hitch is rated for and the bumper could be rated for less (must confirm with manufacturer). If so, you could install supports, the Mount-n-Lock SafetyStruts Standard RV Bumper Support Brackets part # MO22FR or installs a frame mount hitch, the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs part # 13703.

I was wondering if you could install 2 support brackets on each side of the frame to increase support even more, or is that too many holes punched in the frame beams?
