Okay to Upgrade from 205/75-14 to 205/75-15 Tire on Rockwood Mini-Lite Upgrading from 14 tire to 15

Question:

Hello. I have a 2012 Rockwood mini-lite model 2306. Tandem axel. Its time to change out the tires and was wondering if I could upgrade from a 14inch 205/75 to a 15? Thank You!

It'll depend on how much clearance you currently have between the top of your tires and the underside of the wheel wells. We like to see 3 inches of clearance at an absolute minimum. Going to a 205/75-15 tire would move the tire about 1/2 an inch closer to the underside of the wheel well, so if you have at least 3-1/2 inches of clearance now, you'd be fine moving up to a 205/75-15 tire.

Assuming you current wheels have a 5 lug on 4-1/2 inch bolt circle, the # TA53VR which is a load range C tire on a white powder coated steel wheel would have more than enough capacity to handle the 4700 lb GVWR of your Rockwood Mini-Lite 2306.
