Will the Yakima HangOver Hold Non-Mountain Bikes

Question:

Will this rack hold kids bmx bikes and other style bikes together or is it only for mt bikes?

I have a solution for you, but the Yakima HangOver # Y02484 is designed only for bikes with suspension forks. Since you'll be carrying a couple different types of bikes, I recommend using a platform rack like the Saris SuperClamp EX Bike Rack for 4 Bikes # SA4026F, which will allow you to carry both adults bikes and kids bikes. Additionally, since it holds the bikes by the wheels, you won't need an adapter bar for the kids bikes and it will protect any carbon frame mountain bikes from getting scratches on the frames. Platform racks are also especially easy to load, so it really is a great solution and what a lot of customers prefer to use when possible. The SuperClamp fits in 2" hitch receivers, the same as the HangOver does, so as long as your vehicle has a 2" hitch receiver it's a great choice.
