LED Indicator Light on Hopkins Pull to Test Breakaway Switch Stays on All the Time

Question:
just installed my new #20060 switch and pin from Hopkins, on my 2018 Lightning snowmobile trailer. Instructions seemed pretty straight forward, so im pretty sure that I have it wired correctly. However, after hooking the wires back up to the battery, my red light stays illuminated...whether the pin is pulled or not. Im kinda stumped. Any advice? BTW, the white ground wire is grounded to the trailer frame...same bolt that holds the switch in place on the tongue.

From what you described it sounds like you need to install the Hopkins Pull to Test Breakaway Switch # HM20060 so that the white wire either has it's own ground or so that the ground wire is connected to the main ground on the trailer. I'm not 100% sure that using the same location as where you mounted to switch bracket will work.
If you'll be installing the ground on its own make sure that it is a clean, bare-metal surface as even some paint can cause issues. If you're still having issues after installing it in this manner let me know and I can help you troubleshoot further.
