Question:
I was given a trailer with a torsion axle with a tire size of 18.5x8.5-8 . these seem a little wide, they come close to rubbing the axle. What size would you recommend to replace this with that would be a little narrower? I can/t find a manufacturer tag on this trailer, it may even be homemade. It will be used to haul a utv on it. The tires are a Carlisle brand that are currently on it.

We have a narrower wheel and tire that is similar to what you have now with the size 16.5x6.5-8 which is the same as the modern size 165/65-8. For this mounted on a 4 lug wheel you'd want # AM3H200 or for a 5 lug # AM3H220. This would give you right at one more inch of clearance between the frame and the tire.
