Question:
I have an enclosed car trailer that needs d rings mounted for hauling a vehicle no more than 4,000 lbs. The floor is new 3/4 or 5/8 plywood and the ed place where i need to mount the d rings there is no metal cross member to secure them to. Will the d ring with a mounting plate underneath the plywood only be secure enough to manage a car of this weight?

The Brophy Swiveling D-Ring Tie Down Anchor part # RR06 with the Backing Plate for RR06 Recessed Swivel D-Ring Tie Down part # BP06 are a great, easy to install set of tie-downs which can be used for securing a vehicle. The tie-downs themselves have a 2,000 lb working load limit. That said, you will be limited by the attachment point if lower. It would be very difficult for me to give a definitive answer of the weight capacity limits of your floor so for this I must recommend you reach out to the trailer manufacturer.
