Placement of Generators in Proximity to Propane Tanks
Updated 05/06/2020 | Published 05/05/2020 >
Question:
Hi. I purchased the srromberg Carlson trailer tray from you to mount AND RUN a generator on. But after reading that a gas generator should be at a minimum 10’ from propane tank, not sure this will work. Saw on a blog here, that someone disagrees. Please advise. Thanks

Stromberg Carlson specifically designed the # CC-255 Trailer Tray for carrying compressors, generators, cooler or other fairly large items up above the propane tanks. If the proper precautions are taken, such as frequently checking the propane connections at the tank and regulator and inspecting the hoses, you shouldn't have a problem. I found several mentions of a 10 foot rule for residential propane tanks, but nothing specific to RV use.
