how do I get the brake lights to not come on on the side turn singal of a 40ft trailor everything works on the trailor as far as lights but the brake lights come on with the side singals how do I fix plz thanks

Most trailer's are wired up so that the turn signals and the brake lights are carried on the same circuit. So what you are experiencing is normal, but there is a way to do what you are trying to accomplish.
You will need to use a signal converter like # C56196. When you wire this to the trailer wiring you will get the stop light circuits separated from the turn signals.
I attached a diagram that shows how it will install.
