Installation Bracket Locations for Lippert Victory Fold-Down Steps

Question:
How far from the edge can the footman loops be mounted? Im planning to use these on the back of a box truck and there is about 3.5 inches from mounting point to outside edge of the door frame.

The Victory Step Manual Fold-Down Steps for RV and Toy Hauler Patios - Quadruple - Aluminum # LC726895 you asked about will only allow for about 3 inches from the edge. For your application you would either need to add a piece that is hinged to flip out over the door frame or add a piece to the outer door frame to hold the brackets and weight. This could look similar to the Lippert Components Garage Storage Brackets for Victory Step Manual Fold-Down RV Steps - Wall Mount # LC726890 but would need to be stronger as that is not designed for weight.
