Can Plastic Trailer Roof Vent Lid with Continuous Hinge Be Replaced with Metal Lid
Updated 04/21/2020 | Published 04/20/2020 >
Question:
Hi I have a 2011 flagstaff fifth wheel and I need two vent lids. It looks like even though it’s a 2011, it has the “old style” vent lid with the solid slide in hinge. I noticed the metal lids and several people commenting on how they replaced their plastic vent lids with the metal one. Is it a universal fit as long as the hinges are the same?

Generally speaking, if the hinge is the same then you can use pretty much any replacement lid as the sizes are all standard. Therefore, the metal Replacement Dome Assembly for Ventline Ventadome Trailer Roof Vent part # BV0534-00 should work for you since it uses a continuous hinge.
That said, there can be issues with the arm when switching from a dome to a wedge shape or vice versa so that something to keep in mind
