Question:

What is the largest Yakima Platform that I can install on a 2010 BMW 7 Series with the 2 factory oval/aero crossbars. I already have the 2 BMW crossbars installed. I do not wish to install another crossbar as there is no where to install another. Can I buy the 84 inch long lock and load platform and not attach it to a 3rd rail with the idea that I would not exceed 165 lbs on the rack. Please advise...See photos of rails.

I checked with Yakima and the largest LockNLoad Platform Tray that will work with a roof rack system with two crossbars is the 60" Long x 54" Wide Yakima LockNLoad Platform Roof Tray # Y05045.

To mount this tray to your BMW you will need the Crossbar Clamps for Yakima LockNLoad Platform # Y05039.

The 84" Long x 49" Wide LockNLoad Platform # Y05047 does require at least three crossbars to mount. Using less than that would make it unstable, and not only void the warranty, but potentially damage the platform, so I strongly recommend the 60" x 54" LockNLoad Platform # Y05045.
